An American in China: Living, Working, Traveling
As an anthropologist, teacher, and travel enthusiast, I came to China for the first time in December, 2004. I traveled around for thirty days. My initial visit saw me going from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, then Beijing, Wuhan, Xi'an and back to Guangdong Province to Huizhou City near Daya Bay. I enjoyed my first visit so much, that I wanted to combine my interest in culture and travel with my love of teaching. For the first year, I taught in Taiwan, then took a hiatus from teaching to do archaeology, then taught in Japan in 2007, and have been teaching in China since December 2007. During this time, I've further visited the Provinces of Hunan, Sichuan, Guanxi, Hainan, and visited Shanghai and Guangzhou, Chengdu and Changsha, Guilin and Yangshuo, as well as Zhuhai. I want to travel more, see more, and do more in the People's Republic of China. Here are some photos from my time here.
